Remote Desktop

See and control the full screen of your board from anywhere — in your browser or with a viewer app — over a secure awaBerry connection.

Remote Desktop

Sit in front of your board — from anywhere

Remote Desktop shows you the full graphical screen of your board, live, over a secure connection. It is just like sitting in front of it: you see the desktop, move the mouse and type, whether the board is in the next room or you are away from home. Nothing is opened up to the internet — the picture travels through your private awaBerry link.

How it works

When you open Remote Desktop, awaBerry checks whether the screen-sharing service is running on the board. If it isn't yet, you can start it right here — and stop it again the same way when you're done. If something needs attention, the screen tells you and offers a re-check or a link to help.

Once it is running, you get two easy ways to connect, plus a live view of your daily usage so you always know where you stand.

  • In your browser — open the built-in viewer for instant access, no extra software. (Not available on Android, iOS or macOS.)
  • With a viewer app — copy the ready-made connection details and open them in your preferred desktop viewer. Handy scripts are offered for Mac, Windows and Linux. On the Mac and Windows apps, awaBerry can even open the connection for you automatically.

Start a screen session

  1. Open your board from Remote and choose Remote Desktop.
  2. If the screen says the service isn't running yet, start it and wait for it to switch to running. Use re-check if you need to.
  3. Pick how to connect — in your browser, or by copying the connection details into a viewer app (or letting awaBerry open it for you on Mac and Windows).
  4. Use the board's desktop just as if you were there.
  5. When you're done, stop the session so it isn't left running.
