Naomi takes ownership of all security-related topics across the awaBerry platform — from architectural design and threat modelling to compliance, penetration testing oversight, and the security communications our users and enterprise customers rely on.

From the very first line of awaBerry code, security was not an afterthought — it was the design constraint that shaped every architectural decision. Outbound-only tunnels. No inbound ports. No implicit trust. Fine-grained access controls. These are not features bolted onto an existing product; they are the product.
But as awaBerry grows — in user numbers, in enterprise deployments, in the breadth and sensitivity of the workloads our customers run on our platform — the demand for rigorous, dedicated security leadership grows with it. Naomi joins at exactly the right moment.
About Naomi
Naomi brings deep expertise in security engineering and privacy architecture for distributed systems. She has led security programmes at technology companies across regulated industries, combining a technical background in cryptography and network security with the organisational skills to build and run effective security functions.
Naomi is the kind of security professional who looks at a system and immediately asks the questions that others miss — not just "is this secure?" but "how would we know if it wasn't?" and "what are we not thinking about?" That mindset is exactly what awaBerry needs as we scale.
What Naomi Will Be Working On
In the near term, Naomi's priorities include:
- A comprehensive security review of the awaBerry agent and API architecture
- Formalising our vulnerability disclosure and incident response processes
- Expanding our compliance documentation for enterprise and regulated-industry customers
- Building a structured approach to ongoing penetration testing and third-party security assessment
