Page Functionalities

This page is designed to simplify your request for a free research license. Here’s what you’ll find and how to use it:

  • Title and Description: At the top, you'll see the main title, "Request Free Research Licence," followed by a brief explanation of what the license is for: "This license is intended for non-commercial academic or personal research. It allows you to use Awaberry's features for your studies or projects without charge." Below this, you'll find important instructions: "To apply, please send an email following the instructions below." and a crucial reminder: "Important: The email address you send the request from must be the same as your registered Awaberry account email."
  • "Email To" Box: This clearly displays the email address where you need to send your request, which is support@awaberry.com. Next to it, there's a handy copy icon () that allows you to quickly copy this address to your clipboard.
  • "Subject" Box: Here, you'll find the recommended subject line for your email, such as Request for Research Licence. A copy icon () is also provided for easy copying.
  • Account Information: This section contains important details from your Awaberry account that you must include in your email. It displays your Registered Email in Awaberry and your unique Account ID. Both pieces of information are selectable, meaning you can highlight and copy them manually. For added convenience, a single copy icon () at the top right of this box allows you to copy both your registered email and account ID simultaneously.
  • Additional Instructions: Further down, you'll find specific guidance based on your role:
    • For Students: "If you are a student, please include details about your university, course, and a brief description of your academic project."
    • For Researchers: "If you are a researcher, please provide information about your institution, research topic, and a brief overview of how you plan to use Awaberry in your research."
  • Email Block Box: This section provides a pre-written body text for your research license request email. It contains standard phrasing that you can use. Similar to other fields, a copy icon () is available to copy this entire block of text to your clipboard with one click. Remember to customize the bracketed placeholders within the copied text with your specific details before sending.

Possible errors which may occur on this page

While using this page, you might encounter a few issues. Here's how to understand and resolve them:

  1. "noemailfound" displayed for Registered Email:
    • Error: In the "Account Information" section, instead of your actual registered email address, you might see the text noemailfound.
    • Why it happens: This typically occurs if the application cannot retrieve your registered email, possibly because you are not properly logged into your Awaberry account, or there's a temporary issue with the connection to your account information.
    • Solution: First, ensure you are fully logged into your Awaberry account. If you are, try refreshing the page or restarting the application. If the problem persists, you will need to manually type your registered email address into your research license request email.
  2. Empty or missing Account ID:
    • Error: Similar to the email issue, the "Account ID" field in the "Account Information" section might appear empty or display an unexpected error message.
    • Why it happens: This indicates the system couldn't fetch your unique account identifier, likely for the same reasons as the "noemailfound" email error.
    • Solution: Verify your login status and try refreshing the page or restarting the application. If your account ID remains inaccessible, you may need to reach out to Awaberry support for assistance.
  3. Copy functionality not working:
    • Error: When you click a copy icon, the corresponding text doesn't seem to be copied to your device's clipboard. The "Copied to clipboard" notification might also not appear.
    • Why it happens: This could be due to security settings in your web browser (if using a web version), an issue within the application itself, or sometimes an outdated browser or operating system.
    • Solution: As a workaround, you can always manually select and copy the text. Ensure your web browser or application is up to date. If the problem continues across different sections, it might indicate a deeper application issue that requires reporting to support.
