Home Lab & Personal Infrastructure

Home labs are for learning and building — not for maintaining networking infrastructure. Install the awaBerry agent and your Raspberry Pi, NAS, or home server becomes reachable via an authenticated HTTP call from anywhere, with no DDNS, no port forwarding, no VPN.

Remote Access to Your Own Hardware Is a Networking Project

Running a home lab has always involved disproportionate networking complexity just to access your own hardware from outside your home. Dynamic DNS needs to be configured and kept current. Port forwarding rules need to be opened — each one a potential attack surface. Self-signed certificates generate browser warnings. Tools like Tailscale solve the VPN problem but add another layer of software and configuration. The result: simple things like managing your NAS from a coffee shop become a small project in themselves.

Every Open Port Is an Attack Surface

Port forwarding rules, DDNS configuration, and self-signed certificate management — each one adds maintenance burden and security exposure to your home network.

Temporary Access Is Permanent Infrastructure

Sharing access to your home server with a family member or collaborator means creating SSH users and distributing keys — none of which is easy to clean up afterward.

Your Home Hardware, Accessible From Anywhere.

The Agentic API eliminates the entire networking problem. Install the awaBerry agent on your Raspberry Pi, NAS, or home server and the device becomes reachable via an authenticated HTTP call — no DDNS, no port forwarding, no VPN, no self-signed certificates. The connection is tunneled through awaBerry's infrastructure automatically. From anywhere, you have a clean API endpoint for your home hardware.

Step 1 — Install the Agent and Create a Project

Install the awaBerry agent on your device. Create an Agentic API project, assign the device, define your folder scope and command allowlist. No router configuration required.

Step 2 — Call From Anywhere

From any browser, script, or mobile app: POST to the Agentic API with your Project Key and Secret. The connection tunnels through awaBerry to your home device automatically — no public IP needed.

Step 3 — Share Temporarily, Revoke Instantly

Create a project per person for temporary shared access. Delete the project when done — no user account to clean up, no SSH key to revoke. Access is gone the moment you delete.

NAS Management, Pi Control, WoL, and More.

NAS Management Without Web UI Exposure

Trigger backup jobs, check disk health with smartctl, and restart services via API calls — no exposed NAS web UI, no open SSH port, no self-signed cert warning.

Raspberry Pi GPIO & Script Control

A mobile app sends a command to execute a Python GPIO script on the Pi. The Pi executes and returns the result. No public IP, no DDNS, no port 22 exposed.

Wake-on-LAN Proxy

An always-on Pi runs the awaBerry agent. From anywhere, call the API to trigger a WoL magic packet to wake your main workstation — no public-facing infrastructure required.

Scheduled Home Lab Maintenance

A Cloudflare Worker cron calls the API nightly to prune Docker images, renew Let's Encrypt certs, run updates, and sync backups to cloud storage — fully automated.
